The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 50 individuals believed to be involved in cybercrime in Kwara.

The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken decisive action against cybercrime by arresting 48 students of Kwara State University (KWASU) and two residents of Malete. The arrests were made in response to credible intelligence indicating a surge in internet fraud, commonly known as "yahoo yahoo," particularly on campuses in the state.

In an effort to combat corruption and illegal activities perpetrated by "yahoo yahoo boys," the EFCC initiated a targeted operation. Following discreet investigations, EFCC operatives successfully apprehended the suspects in various hideouts after conducting extensive surveillance.

Among the 50 individuals arrested for their alleged involvement in cybercrime are Idris Yekini, Ayantola Segun, Adeshina Taheeb, Mustapha Alamin, Usman Harun, Oladimeji Oseni, Qudus Temitope, Adewunmi Israel, Lukman Uthman, Alamin Ibitoye, Usman Sadiq, Musbau Waris, Ibrahim Oluwatosin, Oladele Israel, Rafiu Ashimu, Aransiola Oluwaseun, Akolade Adetola Toheeb, Joseph Samuel, Adewuyi Quadri, Adebayo Olamilekan, Ogunride Gabriel, Abolaji Ismail, Ogundele Samuel Ejiro, Musa Ali Olawale, Isah Oluwatumishe, Abdullahi Abdulmajib, Abdulralman Abubakar, Olaosebikan Martins, Mazeed Ayomide, Oyeniyi Michael, Moses Bright, Oladipo Victor, Shehu Abdugafar, Abdulmalik Khalid Timileyin, Muhammad Nabil, Adebayo Qudus, Owoeye Adeyanju, Abdulwaheed Zakariyah, Olaleye Gbenga, Victor Kayode, Samad Olarewaju, Raheem Ayomide, Ismail Abdulbasit, Oluyedun Khalid, Moshood Lawal, Utman Abayomi, and Aransiola Joshua. The two Malete residents arrested are Babalola Razaq and Godwin Ouna Ejika.

The EFCC successfully recovered nine exotic cars, twenty-four laptops, and various brands of phones from the suspects. These items, along with the suspects, will be presented before the court upon the completion of ongoing investigations.
