Officers in Abuja, have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in extorting a significant sum of Thirty Million

Officers from the Nigeria Police Force assigned to the Special Tactical Squad in Abuja are under arrest for their alleged involvement in extorting a member of the public of a substantial amount, totaling Thirty Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N30,300,000). The incident came to light after a report was filed through the Force's X Platform, prompting swift action from authorities.


Substantial progress has been achieved in the ongoing investigation, resulting in the apprehension of the implicated officers and their accomplices. The squad members, initially evading capture, are now in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.

In response to this serious misconduct, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has directed the initiation of disciplinary proceedings. This decision emphasizes the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability within its ranks.
