Terrorists are eliminated in Zamfara by NAF air strikes.

In a significant development in the ongoing Operation Hadarin Daji, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported the successful execution of air strikes targeting terrorist elements in Zamfara State. According to Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Nigerian Air Force, Wednesday's air strikes resulted in the elimination of numerous terrorists and the destruction of their structures.

Gabkwet explained that the air strikes were conducted following meticulous observation missions carried out over the camps of terrorist leaders in Zurmi Local Government Area and Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Specifically, the strikes targeted the camps of Abdullahi Nasanda and Mallam Tukur, key figures within the terrorist network operating in the region.

During the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions over Abdullahi Nasanda's camp, NAF personnel detected terrorist activities in and around various huts and thatched roof structures. Additionally, motorcycles belonging to the terrorists were spotted concealed among trees, indicating their presence in the area. With evidence suggesting activities consistent with terrorist operations, the location was subjected to multiple aircraft passes, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists.

Similarly, ISR missions conducted over Mallam Tukur's camp revealed ongoing terrorist activities, prompting decisive action from the NAF. Air strikes were carried out on the camp, leading to the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of numerous structures. The strikes effectively disrupted terrorist operations and inflicted significant damage on their infrastructure.

In addition to targeting specific terrorist camps, the air strikes were extended to Kani kawa in Maradun town, situated within Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State. In this operation, terrorists, along with their hideouts and equipment, were subjected to intense aerial bombardment, resulting in the destruction of their enclaves and equipment.

The successful execution of the air strikes underscores the NAF's commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring peace and stability in Zamfara State. By conducting precision strikes based on actionable intelligence, the NAF aims to degrade the capabilities of terrorist groups operating in the region and protect civilian populations from their nefarious activities.

Furthermore, the coordinated efforts of Operation Hadarin Daji reflect the government's determination to address security challenges in Zamfara State and other affected regions. Beyond military operations, concerted efforts are underway to enhance intelligence gathering, strengthen border security, and foster community engagement to prevent the resurgence of terrorist activities.

However, while the recent air strikes represent a significant victory in the fight against terrorism, sustained efforts are needed to consolidate these gains and prevent the reemergence of terrorist threats. This includes ongoing collaboration between security agencies, effective border surveillance to prevent the influx of arms and fighters, and comprehensive counterinsurgency strategies that address the root causes of extremism.

In conclusion, the successful air strikes conducted by the Nigerian Air Force in Zamfara State demonstrate the military's resolve to combat terrorism and protect the lives and property of citizens. By targeting terrorist strongholds and disrupting their operations, the NAF is playing a crucial role in restoring peace and stability to the region. However, sustained vigilance and multifaceted approaches are essential to achieving lasting security and preventing the resurgence of terrorist threats in Zamfara State and beyond.
