Support for President Tinubu and Governor Fubara in Rivers State



Former Minister of Transport and prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Abiye Sekibo, along with other key leaders including former PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus, former governorship aspirant Celestine Omehia, and former lawmaker Austin Opara, have pledged their allegiance to President Bola Tinubu.

During a Press Conference held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Sekibo, alongside his fellow leaders, expressed their unwavering support for President Tinubu and his policies, as well as Governor Siminalayi Fubara. They conveyed their concerns about the unfolding political developments in the state and urged the President to intervene, particularly in addressing the actions of former governor Nyesom Wike, now serving as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Asserting their commitment to the rule of law and the judiciary's verdict, Sekibo emphasized their acknowledgment of President Tinubu as the duly elected President of Nigeria, as affirmed by the Supreme Court. They vowed to stand by this decision and extend their full support to President Tinubu's administration, prioritizing national progress and unity.

Additionally, the leaders expressed solidarity with Governor Fubara, highlighting his democratic election and affirmation by the Supreme Court as the Governor of Rivers State. They urged all supporters to rally behind Governor Fubara and President Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation for the state's advancement and the nation's welfare.

Addressing concerns about the political atmosphere in Rivers State, particularly regarding the actions of former governor Wike, the leaders condemned any actions undermining the state's peace and stability. They called for respect for democratic processes and expressed disappointment over perceived abuses of power and divisive tactics.
