The Zamfara State Government, Distributes educational materials to approximately 250 schools across the state

The Zamfara State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal, is set to distribute educational materials to approximately 250 schools across the state. The Governor made this announcement during a handing-over ceremony and emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing education.

The educational materials are a result of partnerships between the Universal Basic Education (UBEB) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Governor Lawal highlighted the significance of education as the foundation of civilization, expressing the commitment of the state administration to prioritize and revive education at every level.

The distributed items for the 250 beneficiary schools include 242,000 textbooks, 147,000 workbooks, 203 materials for Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCDA), 25 ECCDA tablets, chess sets, 8,210 library materials, and 35 UNICEF materials for solar-powered equipment.

Governor Lawal issued a stern warning against the theft of these materials, especially the unique solar-powered equipment. He threatened to dismiss school principals found involved in such activities, emphasizing the administration's dedication to reviving the education sector.

Professor Nasir Anka, Chairman of Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, stated that the distribution aimed to empower both teachers and students with essential teaching and learning materials. He emphasized the importance of providing quality education that enables students to compete globally, acknowledging the collaborative effort of UBEB and UNICEF in this endeavor.
Governor Lawal emphasized that the state would continue to benefit from support from national and international partners to enhance the education sector. He reiterated the administration's commitment to providing Zamfara with quality education, enabling students to compete effectively with their counterparts in other states.

The Governor highlighted the various interventions undertaken by the administration to prioritize education and revive the sector.
