President Bola Tinubu officially launched the Lagos Red Line Rail Project, spanning 37 kilometers, to enhance intra-city transportation. The project is anticipated to operate 37 daily trips, catering to approximately 500,000 passengers. President Tinubu emphasized the government's commitment to infrastructural development and ongoing reforms. The Red Line, sharing the right-of-way with the Lagos-Kano Standard Gauge Railway, will run from Agbado in Ogun State to Oyingbo in Lagos, connecting key stations. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu highlighted the project's role in reshaping the urban landscape and propelling development, considering it a generational leap for the city.

President Tinubu's inauguration of the Lagos Red Line Rail Project marks a significant stride in the city's transportation infrastructure. The project's envisioned 37-kilometer route aims to address urban mobility challenges, connecting vital points across Lagos. The president emphasized the administration's unwavering commitment to ongoing reforms, acknowledging the challenges faced, including the impact on living costs due to the removal of fuel subsidies and currency controls.
